Minutes of Meeting March 3, 2014
COCDC President Velma Doyle called the meeting to order at 7:30.
Roll Call: There were 15 members of 12 clubs present.
Treasurer’s Report: Pat Liston reported an ad for the 54th Ohio Convention was purchased.
She issued copies of the monthly finance sheet. Only one bill needs to be paid; building use $25 for this meeting. The proposed budget is basically the same as 2013-2014 with the addition of State Corp Rep. meeting expenses. The treasurer’s report and proposed budget were both approved.

President’s Report: None
Committee Reports: Velma inserted this Sunshine report: Mark Johnson’s sister died,
Chuck Marlow is recovering from brain surgery, Susan Elaine Packer has cancelled March and April bookings due to her husband’s medical problems.
a. State Corp: Shirley Monnett reported that State Corp dues are due in May. Bob Mace,
an Akron dance leader is seeking get well cards and prayers. Ask Shirley for his address.
Buckeye Round Dance Council’s Spring Fantasy Dance is March 30. (See Flyers) Ohio Dance Convention will offer the Nest program in place of Mini Legacy. Other conventions may offer educational programs of their choosing. Dale Bennett is printing out a listing of all Ohio dance clubs. His email address is: firstname.lastname@example.org. Gail Blaskis Miller’s historical book on round dancing drew favorable interest. Velma will ask her to bring a copy to the Honoree dance and State Convention for further examination and possible sign up interest. Invitations for State Corp luncheon are in the mail to Shirley and Debbie. We will hear more about Honorees’ invitations shortly.
b. Callers Liason/Caller’s Report: Next meeting 4/13. May 5th is the deadline for club
schedules to be sent to Debbie for printing in the COCDC Calendar. Velma will figure
out ad $ as space allows.
c. Demo Report: None
d. Publicity: Sue Williams reported the next meeting will be tomorrow. They are still
working on the web site and will address yard sale signs for recruitment next.
e. Constitution & By-Laws: None
f. Ways & Means: Honoree Dance is ready to go Sunday. Don’t forget daylight savings.
g. 2016 Sate Convention. Dennis Budinski reported the Crown Plaza is choice site.
Dennis and Mary Galentine attended a pre-National Convention convention in
Springfield, Mass. last weekend. Paulette Henry and Debbie Kitt joined the travel team.
Old Business: Already covered.
New dancer council passes were distributed.
Lynn LeMaster & Pat Liston were elected vice president and treasurer respectively by acclamation.
Post Office box decision was tabled until income tax exemption and insurance premium
requirements are investigated.
Round dancers are requesting that Velma include their info in her internet listing service. She would be glad to forward it by email if someone would send it to her. Pat Liston will ask Jean Gruenbaum to do this.
Bucks & Does special on June 11 will have Sue Powell along with Ken Bower.
Capital City Squares dance 1 more Sat. in Apr. None May, June, July. See Spring Fantasy Flyer.
Dixie Squares; no dances in May due to convention/ Memorial Day. See “ Fantasy Flyer.
Friendly Ties Cinco De Mayo flyers are out. Advance tickets only…$12.
Grove City – Bob Daye will replace Keith Rippeto on March 8. There will be two halls.
Happy Squares flyers are out for benefit dance April 27.
LBJ flyers out for Amateur Callers/Pizza Party March 21.
Maple Leaf Squares – Eddie Powell will call on 3/23. Dances & class times have changed
Back to 4:30 – 7:00. A new class has started at the Church of Latter Day Saints. Maple
Syrup Open House flyers were distributed.
Orbiting Squares flyers out for Spring Special April 6. Caller change 4/18; Powell for Packer.
Scrambled A’s - Mar. 10 new adv. workshop starting 6:45-8:45.
Debbie Cina will attend Caller Lab Convention in mid April.
Janis Center Sr. Group now called Daylight Dancers.
